Because of this we want to try and sell the product in a more ethical way and make the whole stall an innuendo rather than a direct reference, I found a shop in America that is a Breaking Bad themed coffee house that does not directly involve drug reference or even copy write reference to the show but still uses key images etc that shows it regardless.

"THE LOOK" - Vanessa
One of the problems we had in our feedback was our obvious reference to the drug meth, and glorifying it.

Candy Making Process Photos - Vanessa, Jeremy, Bella & Louis
The recipe for making this candy was relatively simple and did not take long, For our market place we will make these trays ahead of time and it will not take many ingredients or time to do so.
In the next couple weeks we will experiment with different flavours, colours and methods to make it for example adding sherbet as the candy is quite sticky.

Mock up Stall - Week 6 - Dominique
Week 6 mock up Market palace.
- After testing out the making of the candy, we decided we needed to try making it on baking paper instead of tinfoil as it sticks too much. We also thought about using different flavours e.g. orange, coconut, vanilla. It needs to be set out of the fridge too, but we did it in the fridge this time to set it quickly.
- The colour seemed a bit green than we wanted so we need to test out using less food colouring, or maybe balance it out with some purple to create the right blue colour. An interesting idea some people had for us, was to make it popping candy, to create a more interactive experience. (How loud can it pop?).
- For our overall experience, we had an idea to create a sort of underground, under-the-radar, black market for our candy, where people smuggle the candy. We would make different flavours/colours of candy and some would be rarer and more difficult to find than others. We would still continue with the idea of trying to find the person with extra candy.
- In terms of the details, we will be creating posters and signs for our stall to attract people to our candy. We also need to figure out how many trays of candy we will need at our stall for people to smash up, and how many bags of candy we will be giving to our secret person to smuggle to others. At our mock up stall we had quite a few people ask what was in the candy so we will be designing a secret recipe that can be given out on request. We need to think about how many people we may have at our stall at one time and if we will have enough trays for lots of people to smash candy at the same time.
- In terms of packaging, we may need to think of ideas on how we can do this in a more eco-conscious way.

Poster Idea's - Bella
Vanessa and I had the idea that we could hand out fliers/posters as a form of advertisement. These are some images that could be used as inspiration
Also some backdrop ideas for the photo booth

Recipe for making Blue Crystal Meth Candy - Jeremy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrjPiT0lT_E
Blue Crystal Ingredients
- 3-3/4 cups sugar
- 1-1/4 cups light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- blue food coloring (or whatever color you like)
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon flavoring, such as vanilla, lemon, or cherry flavouring
- If you have a candy thermometer, be sure to use it. Otherwise, watch carefully for any darkening or browning of the sugar, which indicates you're getting the mixture too hot.
What To Do
- Grease a cookie sheet. You can use butter, shortening, or non-stick spray.
- Stir the sugar, corn syrup, and water together in a pan over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and continue boiling for 3 minutes.
- Stir in food coloring and flavoring, if desired.
- This is the part where the candy thermometer comes in handy. Increase the temperature to 300 °F. The goal is to melt the sugar and harden the candy, but not carmelize (brown) it. Once the mixture reaches the temperature, remove the pan from heat.
- Pour the hot mixture onto the greased cookie sheet. Be very careful! The candy is extremely hot and sticky at this point.
- Allow the crystals to cool completely. Use a mallet or hammer to break the crystals into pieces.
Store your blue crystals in an airtight container, since humidity will make them sticky. To keep the crystals from sticking to each other, you can spritz them with nonstick cooking spray or dust them with powdered sugar.
Glowing Blue Crystals
If you want blue crystals that glow blue under a black light, replace the water in the recipe with tonic water. The quinine that produces the blue glow has a distinctive flavor, which you may like or may wish to mask with another flavoring.Monday, 10 August 2015

2/2 Idea for Week 4- Vanessa
After class discussion and seeing other groups work in Week 3 we collectively decided to take a different route and try and make something that is fun for everyone. We really liked the idea of nostalgia and having something that a good percentage of people can relate to, we first thought 90s tv shows but then looking and talking to other people this seemed like a common idea. From that an idea of having a stall based around a modern TV show that a lot of people watch, the main idea that we had was the TV show Breaking Bad.
For this idea you could sell a type of souvenir that people can take away that is relevant to the show or some type of food. Developing this we had the idea of some kind of challenge involved to persuade people to interact and give our stall a purpose.
An idea that I had was to have a competition between to "customers." One person will be the "Drug Dealer" and have some kind of prop to identify who they are, they then have to "deal" candy that looks like meth from the show to as many people as possible before the other person finds them. The other person is the "cop" and to find the dealer before the time runs out. If the cop finds the person before the time limit they get their time written down on a leader board. If the dealer isnt found its the amount of "meth" that he sold in the time and then would get his name written down as well. The top dealer and cop get a prize at the end of the day. This would be an interactive way to have fun within our stall and around the market.
This idea is still a work in progress however and my idea can still change etc.

1/2 Idea for Week 4 - Dominique
This is one of our two refined ideas from last week. We realized a lot of other groups were also looking into doing live pieces of art and we wanted to move our original idea in a different direction. Because we all have different talents, we came up with the idea of selling original art/design works of our own on a first come, first served basis. Even if we don't sell these works for money, we would still be putting our 'brand' out there for other students to see. We would open this up as an opportunity for other students to showcase their work also. We thought that possibly after the market, we could open a facebook page or website where we could sell work for real if people seemed really interested. The work wouldn't have to be just drawings, they could be photography, fashion, sculpture, crafty things, etc. Overall this idea is "tester stall" that could lead into a real business later on.
Nostalgia - Dominique
Our third original idea was to create an experience that would evoke the feeling of nostalgia. These images are a visual to express this. However after sharing this idea in the week three class with our buddy group and viewing the google doc, we realized this is a theme that a lot of groups are thinking of using and so we decided against having it as a main idea.
